  • Hass avocado is the third most exported fruit by Colombia. In addition, it is the second agribusiness that generates more income to the country.
  • With this brand, Colombia seeks to position its Hass as a benchmark of sustainability, from its three dimensions: environmental, social and economic.

Hass avocado represents Colombia in more than 30 countries to which it is exported

This fruit, grown in the midst of a unique tropical landscape, is the source of income for at least 240 thousand people in the Colombian agricultural sector (17% of national employment).

To continue conquering the market, differentiate itself from other origins and make known its good practices, process quality and contribution to the economic, environmental and social well-being of the country, this agribusiness created Avocados from Colombia, a brand that represents sustainability from the heart.

Colombian fruit will be exported with this brand as a differentiator, so that buyers everywhere, such as distributors, supermarket representatives and consumers, will prefer it by highlighting its contribution to sustainable development, including the protection of natural resources, economic impact, employment generation, among other factors that offer well-being and quality of life said Katheryn Mejía Vergel, executive director of Corpohass

Avocados from Colombia is inspired by the passion and pride of Colombians for their culture and authenticity, in the natural wealth of its territory, one of the most biodiverse on the planet, home to the largest number of bird species on Earth. Its essence arises from the transformation capacity of the people who make up the sector and find the light, even in the darkest moments.

The Colombian Hass avocado symbolizes the generosity of the sky, which offers the country more than 3,240 mm of rain per year (world average: 990 mm), as natural irrigation for 35,000 hectares currently planted in the country. This fruit is a seed of prosperity and hope, a reason to build a better future.

Europe, the main destination for Colombian avocados

The Colombian Hass avocado agroindustry, the second largest in terms of formal employment in the country, has Europe as its main export destination. Therefore, in order for consumers in this continent to prefer it not only for its unique flavor and creaminess, the brand Avocados from Colombia was launched to the public in Antwerp, Belgium, the port where most of the shipments of this fruit arrive.

The Gloria Ship, the country’s floating ambassador, was the stage chosen to host the unveiling of this brand that will be the flagship of the Colombian Hass and will contribute to continue positively transforming the country’s image abroad.

The ARC Buque Gloria brings to Europe all the flavor of the Colombian Hass, the love with which our producers grow it, the dedication with which they protect the forests, the fauna, the water and our mountains. Each fruit represents the spirit of their tilling hands, which forge a better future for their family and community”, added the Colombian Ambassador to Belgium, Jorge Rojas Rodríguez.
